Chicken Korma is a delicious and flavorful Indian dish that is loved by many around the world. It is made with chicken, yogurt, cream, and a variety of spices. The dish is mildly spicy and has a rich, creamy texture that is perfect for pairing with steamed rice or naan bread. Here is a simple and easy recipe for making Chicken Korma at home:

Ingredients:

  • 500g boneless chicken, cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 cup cream
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 2-3 green chillies, chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the yogurt, cream, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and salt.
  2. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and mix well to coat. Cover the bowl with cling film and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight for best results.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil and ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat.
  4. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.
  5. Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chillies. Sauté for a minute until fragrant.
  6. Add the marinated chicken along with the marinade and stir well.
  7. Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked, stirring occasionally.
  8. Once the chicken is cooked, remove the lid and let the gravy thicken on low heat for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  9. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice or naan bread.
