Ingredients:
- 500 grams of prawns, cleaned and deveined
- 1 small cabbage, shredded
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
- Salt, to taste
- 3 tablespoons oil
- Water, as needed
Instructions:
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add onions, garlic, and ginger to the pan and sauté until the onions turn translucent.
- Add chopped tomatoes to the pan and sauté for a few minutes until they turn soft and mushy.
- Add the shredded cabbage to the pan and sauté for 2-3 minutes until it wilts down slightly.
- Add all the spices (coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, and salt) to the pan and mix well.
- Add the cleaned and deveined prawns to the pan and mix well with the masala.
- Add a little water to the pan and let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the prawns are fully cooked and tender.
- Once the prawns are cooked, turn off the heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Serve the Kobi Chingudi Masala hot with rice or naan bread.
